GRE Argument Essay Pool of TopicsThe GRE Argument Essay Pool of Topics (EPOC) is a unique method of preparing a GRE essay that has proven successful in teaching young writers a variety of methods and approaches to writing essays. Like any other essay topics, the GRE essays will consist of one topic each, ranging from simple sentences to complex sentences. The format of this essay will always follow a simple structure, which is a direct result of studying the GRE essay topic carefully. The success of the GRE Argument Essay Pool of Topics comes down to how the students prepare and write the essay. Students will also learn what to avoid and what to think about as they plan out their essays. The GRE essay writing test will consist of three parts: the topic, the argument, and the conclusion. Some of the best things to remember about the GRE Argument Essay Pool of Topics is that it can be broken down into three different sections. Students need to know the topic first. This can be thought of as the main ideas that will surround the essay. Next, they need to do some research on the topic to find out if it has been covered by a work of literature. After that, students will need to consider a theme. If you want to look at this in terms of movies, you can imagine a theme that matches the plot of a movie. This theme will also match the themes of other types of stories such as stories of people, events, and places. The theme will be the foundation of the essay. Finally, students will need to think about the arguments. These arguments can either be short or long. For example, if a topic has only been discussed briefly, students can use a general, brief argument. However, if the topic was written about for an extended period of time, students can look for an appropriate long argument.Students will also have to consider some type of conclusion. The purpose of this conclusion should be to conclude with the impact that the topic and argument have had on the reader. It is important to note that the end of the essay should serve as the end of the entire essay, so it is essential that this conclusion is well thought out.The GRE Argument Essay Pool of Topics is a great resource for all students. By studying the topic and the arguments in depth, students will gain much more from the essay than just basic knowledge of grammar. Instead, students will gain a deeper understanding of the GRE essay test and the writing process, as well as an understanding of how to prepare and write a powerful essay.
Cross Cultural Psychology Essay Topics
Cross Cultural Psychology Essay TopicsCross cultural psychology is an interdisciplinary field of study and the particular topic of this issue usually involves a cross cultural psychology essay topic. The topic generally takes the form of a debate about which culture is more valuable and how different cultures have changed over time. It also depends on how one should go about deciding which cultural area of interest and which culture have it the most significant.Usually, the majority of cross-cultural psychology essay topics have to do with how people have behaved in the past and which culture, over time, has achieved the most. This is because there is an assumption that certain practices and behaviors have been ingrained into the cultural area and these should be observed by all cultures equally. And though these assumptions are often right, there is nothing immutable about the past. All cultures can always change. In many cases, cross cultural psychology essay topics can easily be ch anged to point out how certain behaviors are viewed differently in different cultures. Examples include the difference between male and female suicide rates, the difference between eating habits of different cultures, and the way that some cultures to treat members of their own faith and those of another. There are many other variations as well.Another interesting area of debate is the value of religion in an indigenous culture, and how it has effected the culture and the living conditions of the natives. Christianity in the western world has no doubt influenced the manner in which the ancient world lives and died, but the same can be said for some religions. And so, it can be said that, no matter how one judges or defines what is important, the world is forever shaped by a variety of philosophies and beliefs. However, as the debate goes on, it may become apparent that not everyone's view is the same and some cross cultural psychology essay topics can include the cultures of those wh o have passed away. These can often be a very moving piece, because the traditional people are usually considered to be the founding, or the inspiration, of what has come after. It should also be pointed out that not all the world's cultures are equally important or even equally wrong. Some countries and cultures have not only been influential, but they have shaped the way the rest of the world lives. So when writing a cross-cultural psychology essay topic, one must consider how the global culture is today, and how that culture may influence the next generation. As a final note, it should be mentioned that cross-cultural psychology essay topics are just that - topics. They can be argued, argued, and argued about, but to the most part, they are simply opinions, opinions which can only be based on the author's interpretation of a given cultural area.
Writing a Definition Essay - Make Sure You Are Using All Possible Options
Writing a Definition Essay - Make Sure You Are Using All Possible OptionsWhen you are writing a definition essay you will need to look at several different areas and find a topic that is both interesting and original. There are many options, from the word itself to the usage of the word, how it is used, the research behind it, etc. When I started writing my first definition essay I was in a bit of a rut. One of the topics I used to look at was 'definition'. This area I failed to use too much on because I realized that I could use it on any subject, even if it did not have a direct correlation to another topic. It seemed that the more specific and concrete the topic the better I could use it.That said, in the future I will look at more of a broad range of topics and try to choose some good examples from each one. Doing this will ensure that I will be using some topic within its scope and even be able to use it in a topic that relates to another topic within its scope.Another topic that I would look at would be the usage of the word. The more that it was used the better the idea that it is being used will be and that will go a long way in convincing me that I am using it correctly. There is no doubt that the research into the word is important but I feel that is one of the less important factors. I have found that when I am using a word or phrase it is often through a different method than other people. As a result the research will always be relevant, as it takes into account other methods used. Finally, when writing an essay on a topic with many variations of a question to ask yourself if the question is important. I often see a lot of questions in definitions that are not relevant and should be removed from the essay. It is often easier to just eliminate a question and not put it into the essay.Writing a definition essay can be difficult and confusing if you do not take the time to look at all the available options. Look at all the areas that you have been neglec ting, and I guarantee that you will come up with something that is of interest and is unique to the topic.

The Discipline of Organizational Psychology Tools and Techniques
Introduction The discipline of psychology is largely concerned with interpretation and analysis of human behavior. On the same note, organizational psychology also seeks to offer in-depth understanding of how organizations are affected by the available human resource. Nonetheless, this branch of psychology mainly relates human behavior within organization context. The initiative behind this analysis is to develop tools and techniques that are capable of eliciting the best behavior among employees. It is also against this backdrop that organizational psychology has become a necessity especially during this era of globaliza tion. The latter has elevated competition among organizations. Consequently, they are expected to improve their functionality in order to survive this cut-throat competition. What is Organizational Psychology? According to Jex and Britt (2008), organizational psychology is a branch of psychology that employs scientific techniques to study individual and group behavior within organizational set up. During this study, technical psychological principles are integrated with scientific research methods in order to analyze various factors that affect human behavior in organizations. Moreover, this study seeks to expose elements that affect individual and group behavior negatively and consequently how this negativity impacts on productivity (Kevin, 2005). Similarly, organizational psychology aims at eliminating negative elements in human behavior in order to improve group performance, which is expected to translate to optimization in organizational output. In practice, organizational psyc hology also explores whether groups perform better under formal or informal workplace environments (Kevin, 2005). The latter author presumes the fact that some of the principles of organizational psychology is what has compelled most technological organizations to adopt informal working environments as part of improving workforce performance. This may be attributed to the fact that formal and informal organizations do embrace various procedures and bureaucracies while dealing with their workforce and subsequently, these elements might impact on employeesââ¬â¢ behavior either positively or negatively (Jex Britt, 2008). Therefore, organizational psychology seeks to identify bottlenecks that tend to attract negative workforce behavior and consequently inject changes to revert negative performance. Evolution of the Field of Organizational Psychology The historical evolution of organizational psychology can be attributed to various personalities. However, the mammoth contribution of Frederick Winslow Taylor at the beginning of 19th century had the most impact in development of its tenets (Jex Britt, 2008). Advertising Looking for essay on psychology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Talyor came up with the idea of technical administration whereby he proposed participatory decision making between managers ands employees (Jex Britt, 2008). At the initial stages, most organizational psychologists held the belief that economic incentives contributed very little towards employeesââ¬â¢ performance since no amount of monetary payout can compensate the kind of input employees commit at workplace. Furthermore, philosophical views by Max Weber were of great importance to the progression of organizational psychology (Jex Britt, 2008). Weber perceived governance as bureaucratic and proposed that if workers knew what was expected of them, they would highly likely perform well than when their duties were dictated by bureaucratic managers (Jex Britt, 2008). On the same note, Weber introduced the element of scientific research to organizational psychology when he studied several organization features such as guidance and authority. However, although numerous publications on the effect of employee motivation on organization performance came to be in the 1950s, it was not until the late 1970s and early 1980s when organizational psychology came to be established as a researchable field (Jex Britt, 2008). Following this discovery, subsequent researches exposed a very interesting psychological aspect on the relationship between human behavior and job attitudes/ performance (Jex Britt, 2008). Consequently, researches also noted another important aspect that employeesââ¬â¢ behavior within an organization are defined by both group and organization composition (Jex Britt, 2008). These aspects have interested organizational psychology researchers up to date as they seek new discoveries aimed a t modifying human behavior towards organizations success. Compare and Contrast Organizational Psychology with at Least Two Related Disciplines Organizational Behavior Organization psychology is closely related to the discipline of organizational behavior. The two fields exhibit some similarities if the variable under investigation has to do with employeesââ¬â¢ behavior (Jex Britt, 2008). Kevin (2005) underscores that the main concern in organizational behavior is to study relationship between human behavior and their organization. Similarly, organization psychology seeks to expose the underlying elements of human behavior that impacts an organization either positively or negatively. The above notion implies that whenever these two disciplines carry out studies aimed at understanding how various elements of human behavior interact with organizational performance, then any disparity between the two is almost non-existent ((Jex Britt, 2008).Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Discipline of Organizational Psychology: Tools and Techniques specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More However, the main disparity between them is evident in their definitions since organization behavior underpins close relationship to organization itself and not entirely on human behavior. Additionally, whereas organizational psychology restricts itself to psychology in order to establish how organizational procedures and adjustments modifies human behavior, organization behavior extends beyond the borders of psychology and seeks answers from sociology, economics as well as anthropology in an attempt to understand how these factors affect organizational performance (Jex Britt, 2008). Socialization Secondly, organizational psychology can be likened to some elements of organizational socialization. The main concern of organization socialization is to study the orientation and initiation processes that a new employee goes through before they can be fully assimilated into an organizationsââ¬â¢ culture (Kevin, 2005). Similarly, organization psychology seeks to understand how socialization process impacts on an employeeââ¬â¢s behavior and subsequently whether that behavior elicits negative or positive organization outcome (Kevin, 2005). Whenever an employee joins a new organization he/she ought to be orientated to understand the history, language, politics, goals and values as well as people within that organization. The above elements form the basis for organization socialization research since researchers seek to understand how newcomers override the above processes before they can become fully fledged members (Kevin, 2005). Contrastingly, the most obvious disparity between these two disciplines is that whereas organizational socialization seeks to establish employee socialization process, organization psychology extends its analysis to establish how each process impact on human behavior in o rder to come up with the most effective process that has the least negative impact on organizational performance (Kevin, 2005). The Role of Research and Statistics in the Field of Organizational Psychology Generally, the discipline of psychology is informed via numerous research and statistical data. Apparently, without research, psychological issues would indefinitely remain as speculations because there would be no possibility of proving or disproving these formulated propositions. Research and statistics, therefore, come in handy due the fact that research enables evidence gathering whereas statistics assist in the interpretation of this evidence (Jex Britt, 2008). Similarly, organizational psychology would be incapacitated without research and statistics to advance its tenets (Jex Britt, 2008). Advertising Looking for essay on psychology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The fact that this subdivision is more scientifically oriented implies that research and statistical interpretation of results is mandatory. Moreover, researchers in this discipline should opt for the most reliable scientific research methods to gather information in order to determine the most appropriate organizational intervention measures (Kevin, 2005). Jex and Britt (2008) underscore that the main goal behind organizational psychology research is to identity the various elements that hinder positive organizational performance. By using statistics, organizational psychologist is able to compare various organizational trends and issues and in the process understand the most common trend across organizations (Kevin, 2005). For instance, an organizational researcher might decide to carry out an insightful study into organizations that are deemed to be successful (Jex Britt, 2008). The information gathered therein might then be used to design and implement organization policies f or an organization whose performance is wanting. Finally, research and statistics are significant since in case of organizational failures, current researchers are able to utilize statistics from prior researches to identify gaps that lead to this failure (Jex Britt, 2008) .Correspondingly, statistical results are more authentic than assumptions. For instance, researchers can utilize various surveying techniques to measure employeesââ¬â¢ competence and motivation factors instead of making an assumption that are likely to be biased (Kevin, 2005). Conclusion In a nutshell, although organizational psychology is the least popular in the wider field of psychology, it is quite significant in when operating organizations. Empirical research studies clearly indicate that human asset can either break or make an organization. Therefore, organizational psychology is more than a necessity since by understanding how organizations elements impact on employeesââ¬â¢ behavior; managers can mo dify management procedures and bureaucracies to promote performance. Indeed, human resources managers should work hand in hand with organizational psychologists in order to elicit the most productive behavior among employees. References Jex, S. M. Britt, T. W. (2008). Elizabeth essays
Elizabeth essays Since the 20th Century mankind begins to tell story about human accomplishments through pictures and gives birth to Hollywood. Movies narrate myths and legends, stories of battles and conquest that is based on events that have happened or recent events. In this case, the story is based on an actual person in history, the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth I. Cate Blanchette has the leading role in ELIZABETH and displays the Queen as a heroine. This heroine image grabs many viewer attentions; the movie is nominated for many Academy Awards and in the Golden Globe Awards, Blanchette has won the Best Actress in Drama for her role and has made ELIZABETH popular among some of the 1998s movies. In Robert B. Rays article, The Thematic Paradigm, Ray talks about the out law hero and the official hero and the way they appeal to the American imagination. The Queen in the movie fits the American dichotomies and Rays analysis; Elizabeth embodies the diametrical opposite traits and her two-sid ed characteristics do indeed been designed (by director Shekhar Kapur) to appeal to a collective American imagination... (Ray, 299) Elizabeth heroic characteristics are a blending of the outlaw hero and the official hero and presents the historical Queen as the reluctant hero; an unruly monarch with an opposing characteristic of a powerful warrior who is also vulnerable to love. According to Rays article, in the myth of American culture there is the traditional dichotomy of individual and community that generates two kinds of hero: the outlaw hero and the official hero. These two types of heroes are defined from a dichotomy because their heroic traits oppose one another. First, there is the age difference in which the way they act points out different images. For instance, the outlaw hero is the one who...

The Supreme Court Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
The Supreme Court - Assignment Example This is a clear indication that both have equal protection of the law regarding the rights that human beings should enjoy. This decision overrules the one offered by Plessy v Ferguson that allowed segregation in state- sponsored schools. The state should not provide separate educational facilities based on race since all people are equal, they should receive equal treatment. The court ruled de Jure segregation as a violation of Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution of the United States. This crucial factor paves way for the civil rights movements and integration (Losco and Baker, 2011, p. 15). Question 2 Why do liberals oppose health insurance to cover laws such as abortion restrictions while favoring laws that require contraception? Answer Liberals feel that abortion is a personal choice that people should not interfere with since it involves a womanââ¬â¢s body, her future, and personal health. Liberals feel that the life of children and parents is better when abortion is l egal. This is because it prevents women from undertaking desperate measures to obtain illegal abortions. Provided abortion happens in a medically controlled environment with proper medical practitioners, then it should not be restricted. In areas where people have limited knowledge concerning contraceptives and sex education, abortion is necessary to control families in a state. Abortion is necessary in cases of rape, where the health of a woman is in risk, incest, congenital disorder, and financial constraints. Liberals require health insurance to cover the laws favoring contraception since they play a significant role in reduction of abortions (Losco and Baker, 2011, p. 19). An affirmative action is an action that favors those who tend to suffer from discrimination. Question 3 How can family, peers and school influence someoneââ¬â¢s opinion on affirmative action? (6 points) Answer Families influence the affirmative action that one takes in a situation. The close bond and relati onship that exists between family membersââ¬â¢ influences a personââ¬â¢s decision. This bond forces people to weigh things differently and act accordingly to appease them. Peer pressure and school also influence a personââ¬â¢s affirmative action. In schools, teachers discourage discrimination as it leads to conflict among individuals. The law of a state also does not give room for discrimination making its practice a violation of law, which should face accusation (Losco and Baker, 2011, p. 27). Peer pressure is tremendously influential, as one tends to act the way peer friends act. Depending on the level of education of the peer group and their beliefs, the group interferes with the decision that one makes. The group might affect a person positively or negatively, and hence, every person has a responsibility to ensure that the effect is to their advantage. Question 4 Why did the Dred Scott decision make the Civil War more likely and lead to the 14th Amendment of the US Cons titution? (7 points) Answer The Dred Scott decision is a ruling of the Supreme Court that the people of African descent could never become U. S. citizens. The court ruled the slaves as private property and, hence, led to Civil war. The slaves are people just like the citizens and oppose the way the citizens treat them as chattels. This gave them the motivation to oppose slavery since even in freed states; the free slaves enjoyed the rights of citizens. From the opposition experienced, the government found an amendment that is

Skydiving Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Skydiving - Essay Example The reason behind this is the force of gravity. This gravity results in an acceleration of 9.8 m/s^2. Given this acceleration, the following formula determines how far the skydiver will travel in a given time: Air resistance is the force that acts against the gravity while the skydiver is accelerating downward. Air resistance acts upwards against the gravity which acts downwards. In the beginning, the push provided by air resistance is much smaller than the pull of gravity; therefore, the skydiver continues to accelerate downwards. However, as the skydiver falls faster and faster, the value of air resistance increases because of which the acceleration starts to decrease. Eventually, the force of air resistance becomes equal to that of the force of gravity. At this point, the skydiver stops accelerating and attains a constant speed. This constant speed is known as the terminal velocity. Terminal velocity is the maximum velocity that a particular body can reach when falling through the air. (Gordon et al 2000; Lenaker 2002) The cross-sectional area of the skydiver plays a very important role in how quickly or slowly the skydiver will reach their terminal velocity. This is because the cross-sectional area determines the amount of air resistance that will act on the skydiver. Greater the cross-sectional area, greater will be the force of air resistance. For example, a skydiver who falls in a spread eagle position will encounter a greater air resistance than one who falls head, or feet, first. This is where the role of parachutes comes in. As soon as the skydiver opens their parachute, their cross-sectional area increases, leading to an increase in the air resistance. This air resistance becomes greater than the gravity. The upward net force causes the skydiver to slow down. As the speed of the skydiver decreases, so does the air resistance, until the skydiver reaches terminal velocity again. (Gordon et al. 2000).
